The Tecnargilla Design Award (TDA) is a competition that Tecnargilla has launched with the aim of singling out the most innovative technology, concepts and materials for decorative applications in the ceramics industry, as inspiration for future collections of floor and wall tiles.

This initiative will make its debut at the 22nd Tecnargilla (Rimini, 27 September-1 October 2010), focusing on the possibilities offered by digital decoration.

The central hall of the Rimini expo center will house an exhibition where companies active in this sector - whether paint factories, design studios or machinery suppliers - can showcase original designs that are the result of their latest research into materials, applications, and surface decorations, which will then be judged by a highly-qualified jury of experts and end users of ceramic products.

The show is intended to highlight the aesthetic and decorative potential offered by digital decoration: a look at creativity in ceramics that goes beyond the mere reproduction of effects that can already be achieved with other methods, to explore the new frontiers and new languages of expression made possible by combining multiple techniques.
